Kate Cartagena

Youth Organizing Program Manager, Planned Parenthood

Hailing from Long Island, New York, Kate began her work in the reproductive freedom movement organizing against sexual assault and intimate partner violence on her college campus.

Kate became a part of the Planned Parenthood family first in 2013 as an intern at Planned Parenthood of Nassau County before transitioning to a full time organizing position after her graduation. Prior to her professional career with Planned Parenthood, Kate worked in Public Affairs with the Suffolk County Coalition Against Domestic Violence, where she made strategic relationships with local college campuses in order to raise awareness of intimate partner violence.

When Kate is not supporting young people to organize their communities around reproductive freedom, she is eating real New York bagels and pizza while watching the newest high school drama television show on the CW.
